Usually performed for cosmetic\u00a0 purposes to boost self confidence but sometimes it is performed for functional reason, such as correcting a deviated septum.<\/span><\/p>\n<h2 class=\"p1\"><strong><span class=\"s1\" style=\"color: #000000;\">Who is candidate for rhinoplasty<\/span><\/strong><\/h2>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">Here are some general guidelines for determining who may be a good candidate for nose job:<\/span><\/p>\n<h3 class=\"p1\"><strong><span style=\"color: #000000; font-size: 12pt;\"><span class=\"s1\">Nose Characteristics<\/span><\/span><\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>Rhinoplasty is always a good option for patients who feel unhappy with their nose. However minor deformities mainly in revision cases could be performed under local anesthesia.<\/span><\/p>\n<h3><strong><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">The surgery<\/span><\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>There are two primary techniques for a rhinoplasty, open and closed.<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<h4><span style=\"font-size: 10pt;\"><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\"><strong>Open rhinoplasty<\/strong><\/span>; it involves an incision between the nostrils in the columella usually a v-shaped one. This technique allows a great visibility and control for the surgeon<\/span><\/h4>\n<h4><span style=\"font-size: 10pt;\"><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\"><strong>Closed rhinoplasty<\/strong><\/span>; the incision is from the inside of the nose with no visible scars from the outside<\/span><\/h4>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>Dr Mohamed Ashraf will decide which approach is best for your case and will explain the steps and technique in full prior to surgery during your consultation.<\/p>\n<p>During the procedure. we may reshape the nasal bones and cartilage to improve the nasal dorsum bridge, remove humps. Change the tip shape, size or projection. Straighten a deviated septum, shorten or elongate the septum. The patient will need to rest for a few days and avoid any strenuous activity or lifting heavy objects during this time.
