However it is less commonly done by other types of implants like saline implants , fillers or fat.<\/p>\n<p>Women usually seeks this type of surgery to boost their self confidence and enhance their appeartance.<\/p>\n<h2><strong>Candidates of breast augmentation using silicone implants<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>Breast augmentation is done to:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Women with small breasts who wish to have them bigger in size<\/li>\n<li>Women who seek to restore their breast volume after lactation and pregnancy<\/li>\n<li>Women with asymmetrical breasts and seek improvement in breast symmetry<\/li>\n<li>Women with deflated upper part of the breast and seek fullness.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2><b>Types of breast Implants\u00a0<\/b><\/h2>\n<p>Breast Implants are either silicone gel Implants or saline implants. However Silicone Implants are more widely used in aesthetic surgeries and it is preferred by Dr Mohamed Ashraf.<\/p>\n<p>Silicone Implants come in 2 shapes round or tear drop. They Also come in different texture, smooth or textured.<\/p>\n<p>Silicone Implant manufacturers also have different sizes and projection.<\/p>\n<p>During your consultation Dr Mohamed Ashraf will discuss with you the best fit for your breasts and the suitable size and projection.<\/p>\n<h2>What are the risks of a breast augmentation surgery?<\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li>Risk of anesthesia<\/li>\n<li>Bleeding<\/li>\n<li>Alteration in nipple or breast sensations<\/li>\n<li>Fluid accumulating in the breast (seroma)<\/li>\n<li>Formation of a tight capsule around the silicone implant in the breast known as (capsular contracture)<\/li>\n<li>Silicone Implant rupture (most manufacturers have a life time replacement guarantee if it happens)<\/li>\n<li>Infection<\/li>\n<li>Persistent pain<\/li>\n<li>Poor scar<\/li>\n<li>A very rare type of breast cancer. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.plasticsurgery.org\/patient-safety\/breast-implant-safety\/bia-alcl-summary\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Breast implant-associated anaplastic large cell lymphoma (BIA-ALCL)<\/a><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2>What are the steps of breast augmentation surgery?<\/h2>\n<p>Dr Mohamed Ashraf will ask for pre-surgery routine labs<\/p>\n<p>There are many approaches to insert the silicone.<\/p>\n<p>The incision (intended scar) is usually around 4-5 cm in the fold under the breast, however it is possible in some cases with wide areolas to have the incision around the areola (periareolar incision).<\/p>\n<p>The Implant may be inserted either under the pectoralis muscle (submuscular) , or over the muscle directly under the breast tissue (subglandular).<\/p>\n<p>Dr Mohamed Ashraf will explain which incision and approach is suitable for your case before the procedure.<\/p>\n<p>The incision is then closed.<\/p>\n<h2>Recovery of a breast augmentation surgery<\/h2>\n<p>There might be some swellings and bruises in the first few days<\/p>\n<p>You&#8217;ll be asked to wear the medical bra we provide for 3 weeks<\/p>\n<p>We&#8217;ll prescribe antibiotics and analgesics for a week<\/p>\n<p>you&#8217;ll be asked not to do vigorous exercise for 3-4 weeks<\/p>\n<p>Sexual activities must be refrained for 1 month<\/p>\n<p>Pain usually subsides 2-3 days after the procedure.<\/p>\n<h2>Fat transfer breast augmentation<\/h2>\n<p>This procedure is done by taking fat by liposuction from a desired part of the body like abdomen, back or thighs and after processing it with some technique we re-inject it in the breast<\/p>\n<p>However this procedure isn&#8217;t the preferred method by Dr Mohamed Ashraf and it is reserved for a certain cases<\/p>\n<h2>Mommy make-over surgery<\/h2>\n<p>It is not typically a surgery it&#8217;s a combination of breast and abdomen surgery, where usually after pregnancy and lactation women seek to
